Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of ResumeGenie (the “Service”), available at resumegenie.io and through the ResumeGenie browser extension. ResumeGenie is operated as a sole proprietorship based in India (“ResumeGenie,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who can use ResumeGenie

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. By using ResumeGenie you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate and your own.

2. What the Service does

ResumeGenie helps you maintain a single “memory bank” of your career history and uses artificial intelligence to generate job-tailored résumés and related materials (cover letters, outreach messages, interview preparation, recruiter and LinkedIn analysis, salary guidance, and similar features). The browser extension can clip a job description from a web page and assist you in completing job applications.

3. Accounts

Authentication is provided by our third-party provider, Clerk. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login and your extension access token, and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at support@resumegenie.io if you suspect unauthorized use.

4. Credits, plans, and billing

• Credits.Certain AI features consume “credits.” Credits are a prepaid unit of access to the Service. They have no cash value, are not transferable, and cannot be redeemed for money except where required by law.
• Credit packs. You may buy one-time credit packs. Credits are added to your balance after successful payment.
• Pro subscription. The Pro plan is a recurring subscription (currently ₹499/month, including a monthly credit allotment). It renews automatically each billing cycle until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your billing settings; cancellation stops future renewals and downgrades your account at the end of the current period.
• Payments. Payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not store your card or bank details. Prices are in Indian Rupees (INR) and may include applicable taxes.
• Refunds. Our refund and cancellation policy is described on the Refund & Cancellation page and forms part of these Terms.

5. Your content and AI-generated output

You retain ownership of the information you provide (your “Content”), including your memory bank, uploaded résumés, and job descriptions. You grant us a limited licence to store and process your Content to operate the Service — including sending relevant Content to our AI provider(s) to generate output for you.

AI output is assistive, not authoritative. AI-generated text may be inaccurate, incomplete, or contain placeholders (e.g. [metric]). You are solely responsible for reviewing, correcting, and verifying every résumé, message, or application before you use or submit it. ResumeGenie does not guarantee any job, interview, or outcome, and does not provide legal, financial, or career advice.

6. The browser extension and auto-apply

The extension acts only when you direct it to (for example, when you clip a job or start an application). The auto-apply assistant fills forms and flags fields it cannot answer, but it never submits an application on your behalf— you make the final review and click submit. You are responsible for the accuracy of every submission and for complying with the terms of the third-party sites you apply through. Do not use the extension to send spam, circumvent site protections, or violate any platform’s rules.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive purposes, or to misrepresent your identity, qualifications, or experience;
• upload content you do not have the right to use, or that infringes others’ rights;
• attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, overload, or disrupt the Service, or bypass credit limits, rate limits, or security controls;
• resell or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by ResumeGenie and protected by applicable laws. These Terms do not grant you any right in our intellectual property except the limited right to use the Service as permitted here.

9. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties (including Clerk, Neon, OpenRouter and its model providers, Razorpay, Apify, and Resend). Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers’ terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will be accurate or fit for any particular purpose.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ResumeGenie will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, opportunities, or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the three (3) months before the event giving rise to the claim.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to us or others. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g. ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability) will survive.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable law, the courts located in India will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service.
